Mauritzfontein’s successful resident sire Ideal World had a notable mid-week double on Wednesday, with the son of Kingmambo supplying two winners at Hollywoodbets Scottsville.
Ideal World’s first success on Wednesday came when his lightly raced son Ideal Act won the fourth race on the card, the Track And Ball Gaming Maiden Plate (1400m).
Under Keagan De Melo, the Ideal World sired three-year-old tracked the front running Edge Of Winter before hitting the front someway from home.
From there, Ideal Act simply pulled clear to win impressively by nearly four lengths.
Trained by Dean Kannemeyer, Ideal Act was making just his fourth start on Wednesday, with the gelding having finished second last time out.
Bred by the Gary Player Stud, Ideal Act is out of the Jay Peg mare Jouez.
His sire’s second success at Scottsville on Wednesday came when his Carl Hewitson trained son A Whole New World captured the seventh race, the Follow In The Box Seat Podcast MR 68 Handicap (1950m).
Given a finely timed ride by Sean Veale, the gelded four-year-old, who had a poor draw to overcome, came with a late rattle to land the penultimate race on the card by just over three-parts of a length.
Bred by Clifton Stud, A Whole New World was winning for a third time with his victory on Wednesday.
His sire Ideal World is currently responsible for nearly 50 black type horses, including reigning Horse Of The Year Rainbow Bridge.
