Trained by Justin Snaith, the grey Absolutely Yes made it two wins from four starts with a hard fought win in the Somerset 1200.
Under JP Van Der Merwe, the Danon Platina gelding dug down deep to best a game runner up Churchillian and score by a long neck.
Bred by Wilgerbosdrift & Mauritzfontein, the two-year-old, runner up in the recent G3 Winter Nursery, was an R800 000 purchase from the 2024 National Yearling Sale.
Absolutely Yes, who is out of the Tiger Ridge mare Maybe Yes, is bred on the same Danon Platina/Tiger Ridge cross as G2 Mike De Kock Ipi Tombe Challenge winner White Pearl.
Sunday’s winner is one of six two-year-old winners this season thus far for former Japanese Champion 2YO Colt Danon Platina. This tally also includes Whispering Death, winner of two of three starts, and debut winner Limerick Lace. The latter holds an entry for Saturday’s Listed Ridgemont Devon Air Stakes.
