Mauritzfontein’s promising young stallion Danon Platina has made a bright start to his stud career and this was reflected in results achieved by Danon Platina at Thursday’s Cape Premier Yearling Sale Powered by Tattersalls.
Yearlings by Danon Platina made up to R700 000 at Thursday’s sale, with the top lot Great Plains (Lot 61) knocked down to John Freeman. Consigned by Drakenstein Stud, Great Plains is out of the Var mare Mara.
Danon Platina ended the 2023 Premier Sale having sold three lots for R1.175 million, with the Mauritzfontein resident’s yearlings averaging R391 667 at Thursday’s sale.
The champion son of legendary champion Deep Impact recently got off the mark as a sire, when Danon Platina colt Romance In Rome romped home to break his maiden by nearly three lengths.
Currently Leading First Season Sire for 2022-2023, Danon Platina was Japan’s Champion 2YO Colt of 2014.
