Mauritzfontein’s consistently successful stallion Ideal World had another good weekend, with the blue blooded son of Kingmambo responsible for two smart looking winners at Hollywoodbets Greyville on Sunday.
Ideal World’s first success on Sunday came when his three-year-old daughter Sea Goddess captured the third race at Greyville, the Call Telebet Track And Ball Fixed Odds On 031 314 1155 Maiden Plate (F&M) over 2000m. Under Jason Gates, the Louis Goosen trained filly stayed on strongly to shed her maiden convincing by just over a length.
Bred by Summerhill Stud, Sea Goddess was making just her third start on Sunday, with the filly having finished fourth on debut.
Ideal World is also the sire of Pongola, who caught the eye when victorious in the eighth and last race at Greyville on Sunday.
Under Rachel Venniker, the Michael Roberts trained gelding run on powerfully to win Sunday’s Hollywoodbets Bright Future Maiden Plate (1400m) by just over a length.
Another bred by Summerhill, three-year-old Pongola is out of the Kahal mare Checcetti.
Ideal World had also enjoyed success at Fairview on Friday when his daughter Ideal Angel romped home to a facile win over 1900 metres. Trained by Sharon Kotzen, Ideal Angel has now won six times and she has been a real money spinner for her connections!
The inform Ideal World also looks to have a smart three-year-old to his name in the form of Tamarisk Tree. The latter recently made it two wins from just three starts when running out an impressive winner at Turffontein, and Tamarisk Tree looks a horse with a bright future ahead of him.
