Mauritzfontein’s consistently successful sire Ideal World came up with his 29th stakes winner when his classy daughter Ululate won the Listed Syringa Handicap (1600m) at Turffontein on Sunday.
Trained by her owner St John Gray, four-year-old Ululate received a well judged ride from Muzi Yeni, with Yeni producing Ululate with a sustained late run which saw the Ideal World filly stay on powerfully to land the 2022 Syringa Handicap by nearly a length and a quarter.

The Syringa Handicap was a fine result for Ideal World, whose daughters Ululate and Florentine ran first and fourth respectively.

Bred by Wilgerbosdrift & Mauritzfontein, Ululate has now won seven times for earnings of over R430 000.

Out of the Shamardal mare Shauntrel, Ululate was a R100 000 buy from the 2019 National Yearling Sale.

She is one of a large number of talented fillies sired by Ideal World, with the latter’s other high-class daughters including champion Smart Call and such graded stakes winners as Inverroche, Mount Laurel, Saragon, Vistula, and Zante.

Ideal World, whose other stakes winners this season include Cat Daddy and Donald McDonald, has four lots on offer at the 2022 KZN Yearling Sale.
