Mauritzfontein’s bang inform stallion Danon Platina was at it again on Saturday. The champion son of Deep Impact was responsible for a pair of eye catching winners at Hollywoodbets Kenilworth on Saturday, with Danon Platina having also had a double on Boxing Day.

Danon Platina looks to have a very promising daughter in the form of Absolutely Yes. The latter made a sparkling, winning debut when romping home to land Saturday’s Hollywoodbets Kenilworth Welcomes You Maiden Juvenile Plate (1000m) in scintillating fashion.

Under JP Van Der Merwe, the Justin Snaith trained two-year-old hit the front 200m from home and stormed away to win convincingly by two and a quarter lengths.

Bred by Wilgerbosdrift & Mauritzfontein, the exciting Absolutely Yes was an R800 000 buy from the 2024 National Yearling Sale.

Out of the Tiger Ridge mare Maybe Yes, Absolutely Yes is bred on the same Danon Platina/Tiger Ridge cross as recent G2 Mike De Kock Ipi Tombe Challenge winner White Pearl.

Danon Platina’s second success on Saturday came when his son Tsunami Warning won the Racecape Powered by Hollywoodbets Class 5 over 1400 metres.

The Dean Kannemeyer trained four-year-old, under Craig Zackey, fought out a thrilling finish with Trippi’s Silk which saw Tsunami Warning prevail by a head.

Bred by Wynnholme Stud, Tsunami Warning, who was winning for a second time, is out of the Modern Day mare Saltwater Girl.

His sire Danon Platina is having an excellent season in 2024-2025 with his star performers including such graded stakes winners as Great Plains and White Pearl, as well as Need For Speed Sprint winner Luhamba Phambili.
