Mauritzfontein’s consistently successful sire Ideal World had a good few days this past week, with the Kingmambo son’s daughter Rattle Mouse lifting Friday’s Walmer Handicap at Fairview and the sire’s two-year-old daughter Imvoti making a winning debut at Hollywoodbets Scottsville on Sunday.
Trained by Justin Snaith, Imvoti overcame considerable greeness in running when she won Sunday’s www.galloptv.co.za Maiden Juvenile Plate (Fillies) (1600m). Under Richard Fourie, the Ideal World filly stayed on gamely to win by a neck on debut, despite hanging over the closing stages.
Bred by the Summerhill Stud, Imvoti is out of the Rambo Dancer mare Dignify, and she looks another promising filly for her sire.
Remarkably, Ideal World was responsible for the first three past the post in Friday’s Walmer Handicap (1800m) at Fairview. His five-year-old daughter Rattle Mouse scored by a neck, with fellow Ideal World daughters Wings Of Fire and Ideal Angel finishing second and third respectively.
Bred by Rathmor Stud, the Zietsman Oosthuizen trained Rattle Mouse has now won four times, with the mare’s previous efforts including a third place finish in the 2020 Listed Bass Racing River Jetez Stakes.
Out of the Alami mare Rattled, Rattle Mouse was originally knocked down to Nick Jonsson for R250 000 at the 2018 National Yearling Sale, before she was later sold on.
Ideal World has proved consistently successful since retiring to Mauritzfontein, with his notable flagbearers headed by the Equus Champions Rainbow Bridge, Smart Call and Hermoso Mundo.
The regally bred sire has five lots on offer at this year’s August Two Year Old Sale including a half-brother (Lot 84) to G3 Gold Bowl winner Imperial Ruby, and a three-parts brother (Lot 264) to G3 Three Troikas Stakes queen Mount Laurel.
