Mauritzfontein’s resident sire Danon Platina enjoyed a good day at the Vaal on Tuesday.
Not only did his daughter Manyeleti make an impressive winning debut, but another Danon Platina daughter Oriental Bouquet won the fifth race on the card.

Three-year-old Manyeleti made a big impression when romping home to win Tuesday’s #Youcanbetonus! Maiden Plate (F and M) (1000m). Under Craig Zackey, the Lucky Houdalakis trained filly made most of the running to score on debut, as she liked, by three lengths.
Bred by Wilgerbosdrift & Mauritzfontein, Manyeleti races for Steven and Jessica Jell and Rachel Slack.

Out of the Tiger Ridge mare Meryl, Manyeleti is bred on the same Danon Platina/Tiger Ridge cross as graded stakes winners Absolutely Yes and White Pearl.

Another bred on the Danon Platina/Tiger Ridge cross is Oriental Bouquet, winner of Tuesday’s TAB4Racing App MR 66 Handicap (1000m).
Under Kobeli Lihaba, the Grant Maroun owned and trained mare put her head down where it mattered most and got up to win by a short-head.
Bred by Riethuiskraal Stud, Oriental Bouquet is out of the Tiger Ridge mare Jo Malone.

Danon Platina also enjoyed feature race success recently when his son Landoftherisingsun won the Listed Settlers Trophy.
Japan’s Champion 2YO Colt of 2014, Danon Platina shares his legendary sire Deep Impact with Real Steel, the sire of recent G1 Longines Breeders’ Cup Classic winner Forever Young.
